Spyware Prevention and Removal

The Barracuda Web Filter prevents spyware infections by blocking spyware Web sites, spyware downloads and drive-by installs at the network level. For organizations with an existing spyware problem, the Barracuda Web Filter detects previously installed spyware as it accesses the Internet and notifies administrators of infected computers. To facilitate removal of spyware from those infected computers, the Barracuda Web Filter includes the Barracuda Spyware Removal Tool.

The Barracuda Spyware Removal Tool is an ActiveX download for Windows computers that performs a comprehensive scan for any traces of spyware or other types of malware. This thorough scan may take several minutes to complete. After the analysis is complete, users or administrators can remove the malware and any traces of malware.

You can assess the threats on your own Windows computer with a demonstration version of the Barracuda Spyware Removal Tool. The demonstration version detects traces of spyware and malware but it does not remove identified threats from your computer.
